Synopsis: (click on this link to watch film clips)
Known as the “Black Broadway” of musical greats like Duke Ellington, U Street at its historical heyday is revealed through the eyes of James, a floundering college freshman who travels back in time to complete a history assignment.

On an unforgettable journey, James witnesses the epitome of U Street’s high society…his ears are tickled by the sound of “sweet jazz” and his eyes are captivated by the sight of elegant sophistication.  A new James awakens.

See U Street at the Art-o-Matic DC Arts Festival June 2 through July 5, 2009.
